A family run business with an abundance of experience. Formed in 2002, Time Well Spent have restored and refurbished multiple sites, many in the heart of the Surrey and Sussex countryside, maintaining period features to create a truly warm, traditional, pub and dining experience.
We’re incredibly proud of our lovely teams, many of whom have been on our journey for a number of years.
We endeavour to embrace and support the local communities, Quiz Nights are a regular feature across the board at all of our pubs, we hold various charity events throughout the year, and we are comfortable in the knowledge that we can facilitate every aspect of a social or business event at all of our venues. From coffee and a catch up, right through to private dining.
A full seasonal menu, including ‘Chef’s Daily Specials’ can be enjoyed in the Bar, Restaurant or Al Fresco at all of our beautiful pubs and restaurants.
“If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.” J.R.R. TOLKIEN
Built in the historic market town of Reigate in 1760, the same year the Hanoverian George III ascended the English throne, The Black Horse has not always been frequented by the same calibre of current local residents, dog walkers and golfing enthusiasts. Highwaymen and brigands were apparently rife in the area, so much so, that a gallows was erected nearby on what is known as Galley Hill. In 1765 Reigate Heath Windmill was erected and is claimed to be the only windmill in the world to contain a consecrated Chapel.
